For a long time I have been a fan of Vinyl Designer Toys. Some artist's designs are insane and I have always wanted to have a go at it myself.
Vinyl Designer Toys come in several different characters designs. The aim to be creative. The character I chose is called "Raffy". I chose this character because I was hoping to make a dinosaur character.
Anyway, after being a big fan of these for so long, I finally got the chance at the end of 2010 to make the following "Becassaur" for my girlfriend as a Christmas gift. Some people get really creative and use, say, the horns as eyes and the whole nose area as a big mouth. This being my first attempt, however, I decided to keep it simple.
Initially, I had no idea where to begin. I didn't know anything about paints or oils. So I kind of went into this with an open mind and decided I would pick the colours, paint it very slowly and design it as I went. I am very happy with how it turned out as a first attempt.
